A Chance Encounter (Invite Only)

It was late evening, quickly turning to night, but this particular street was still busy. Cars went down the street and people used the side-walks, and one of the people was Luke. He was heading home from a day of studying, specifically things about mutations and genetics. When he heard that people like him had been popping up, he decided to look into how common it might become. He was keeping an eye out for anything eye catching or strange, hoping to see a mutant. Talking to someone else with the same circumstances might provide a little clarity, and also a little comfort.

Chase was hiding out a bit a bit by covering his head with his hood and keeping his face kind of low. Ever since basically the world found out he was a mutant, he has been in hiding. Only going out for food every once in awhile. Though, even though he hid his face, some how, someway, people always found out who he was. Lets hope this time he was fine.

He continued walking and scanning the crowds, he almost reached home before he noticed something. He saw a familiar looking teenager with headphones on the other side of the street, where had he seen him before? The news? He crossed the street and started to follow the guy until after a while he confirmed that it was one of the reported mutants. He caught up as best as he could and tapped Chase on the shoulder. "Excuse me, could I grab your attention for a moment?"

Chase clenched his teeth when he got tapped and slowly turned around to see who tapped him. When he turned around he looked up a little bit to see some guy's outline. "Can't talk. Kind of in a hurry." Chase told him, and started to walk away again. His heart was beating rather fast for the fact that somebody he had no clue who he even was just randomly talked to him. That, never meant any kinds of good.

"Wait hold on a minute...!" He said, quietly but obviously panicked. He continued to speak in a quiet tone to avoid attracting attention. "Look if you are who you think you are, then you're like me, so could you wait up a bit?"

Chase stopped cold in his tracks. Did he just say, what he though he just said? He immediately turned around and looked at the nearest alley way. "You, me, alley, now." He told him, walking right into the alley." He told him, kind of, whisper yelling.

He followed obediently, although he was clearly nervous, as he didn't actually know this guy's mental state. He stopped in the alley and looked around before stating a question in his previous tone. "You're Chase right?"

Chase stomped his foot a bit. "Dammit! You actually know me." Chase commented, crossing his arms. "Only one thing to do now. I gotta kill you." Chase said, one hundred percent joking. "And what do you mean me and you are like me, or I, you?" Chase asked, bringing his hoodie down.

His eyes widened and he twitched a bit before realizing it was a joke. He sighed and shook it off. "I mean I'm a mutant and so are you." He said, wondering if this guy would even believe him.

Chase sighed and shook his head. "Sorry if I dont really believe you on that." Chase told him. Was there a way he could just, totally erase the guys memories from the past hour? Cause he really needed a power or item like that.

"Well fine then, suit yourself." he said, as he used his telekinesis to lift a bunch of trash inbetween them, as they were in an alleyway. "I mean I guess I don't have any way to prove it, so whatever."

Chase looked at the guy and saw some, objects he couldn't really define. "Are you like, picking things up or something? Man, I saw that last week." Chase said, not really meaning it. He was more trying to convince the guy that he didn't want to be a mutant at all. Just bring bad things. Which, Chase did not want anybody to live through.

"Well it's not the only thing I can do, just the only one with a bit of visuals." He said, feeling a bit self conscious that apparently his ability was so common. He slumped a little bit as he dropped the trash. "Anyways, I would like to know what it's been like for you, maybe compare experiences?"

Chase raised his eyebrow at the question. He shook his head. "Its been a nightmare. You?" Chase asked him, crossing his arms.

"It's been... difficult. But I've managed to keep a secret. And luckily I did seeing how people are reacting to mutants." He said, glancing back out at the alleyway as to refer to the people 'out there'. "Am I the only other one you know?"

Chase shook his head slowly. "Nope, you are certainly the first one. Though you should be careful. The world is, kind of a dick." Chase told him. He then sighed and relaxed a little, now knowing he wasn't going tp have to fight or run or anything. "For some reason, nobody likes-" Chase started, when a car seriously came out of nowhere, flying straight towards Chase and the guy. "Like, whoever is doing that." Chase commented sighing.

Luke raised an eyebrow before seeing the car out of the corner of his eye, and if he had seen it a second later he probably would have died (Thanks clairvoyance. He had dropped and was now on his hands and knees, shaking as he stood up. "What the FUCK was that!?"

Chase remained perfectly still as the car went right through him and crashed into the wall. After that, Chase shrugged at the question. "Some guy who i'm guessing is going to out me here. Stay back." Chase told him, pulling his hood down and running towards where the car was. He told him that mostly for the guy to not get noticed more than he wanted to just fight the guy by himself.

He hesitated momentarily when Chase told him to stay back, but only for a moment. "Like hell." He muttered as he dashed after Chase, there was no way he wasn't going to help lessen collateral damage and make sure that this Chase guy didn't get hurt.

Chase jumped in the air and started flying, the night sky lighting up because of the electricity. He then turned back around to see who the guy causing havoc was. He then saw an outline he swore he just saw. "Fucking braniac." Chase mumbled as he continued looking.

Luke saw that the Electrician was trying to find him, and took a moment to breath, he concentrated and sensed the surrounding area's minds. He quickly locked on to who he believed to be the perpetrator of the thrown car and started running in his/her direction. "Hurry this way!" He was still shaking a little from panic and nervousness, but he was comforted by the fact that he was being accompanied by a guy who was literally electricity.

Chase sighed and nodded. He knew he was way faster than the guy so he kind of lallygagged a bit and checked to see if anybody was injured. Thats when he saw, what looked like a kid with a phone out pointed at him. Thats when he smiled and waved to the camera. Cause y'know, All about them publicity stunts. Thats when he finally turned around and started flying where he saw the guy start to run.

The street lights finally flickered on, giving them a bit more light. He became a little bit less nervous now that he could see properly. He rounded a corner and before he knew it there was a thrown bike crashing into him and throwing him back, looks like he found him, not in a good way though. He groaned and stood up, trying to regain his bearings. Meanwhile there was the culprit, a middle aged man wearing a ripped and striped shirt with a pair of sweat pants, tearing the locked door of an electronic's shop off it's hinges with ease. He was grinning manically after the successful hit against the teenager and had already decided he was out for the count.

Chase also turned the corner and looked back to see the guy with, what it seemed like, a bike. But, Chase could never be real sure though, he hasn't seen an actual, object that seemed like forever by now. He sighed and shook his head. "Stay on your-" Chase started to yell, until a door crashed into him and actually made him fly back a couple of yards. He swore he felt his coolness meter deplete completely.

The man after seeing the two kids were out of it for a moment, quickly went into the store and started grabbing all of the expensive looking electronics he could hold with one arm, he ran out and saw that the kids were recovering and started to make his escape by running in the other direction with his loot.

Luke was now up and ready for action! He watched the man enter the shop and quickly exit with a bunch of random electronics, was he even paying any attention to what he was robbing!? He grimaced and picked up the bike that was thrown at him with his telekinesis, then launched at the retreating figure at a breakneck speed!
